National Wormhole Day

If you could jump through a wormhole and visit any point in time, where would you go? Past or future? Earth or elsewhere?

As part of National Wormhole Day, and celebrating Einstein’s birthday, I’ve posed this question to myself. Honestly, it’s pretty hard since I love history so much, but I actually would probably want to see the Sermon on the Mount of all things (with someone who could translate for me).  If I ever went into the future, I’d certainly be tempted to checkout stock prices, but I learned from Back to the Future that betting on future sporting or economic events for gain will screw up the space time continuum…but whether past or present I’d love to go through the wormhole in a DeLorean!

So where and when would you go? How long would you stay? Who would you take with you?

  1. I think there's a field trip forming for visiting the Sermon on the Mount. Seen a few participants using their wormhole ticket for that. Might be a group discount. :P I tease, but it would be a moment to see.

And I can't decide which is better for wormhole travel, the Delorean or the Tardis.

  4. Mode of travel? Definitely the Tardis, esp. if Matt Smith and/or David Tennant are driving.

  6. I would do the same - go see Jesus. And I would LOVE to see Einstein. His birthday is today? He was a man way before his time - as was Jesus. sandie

  7. Lots of bloggers have chosen to see the Sermon on the Mount. Great choice, but I'm not a fan of huge crowds, so I'd rather see Jesus when he spoke in the temple as a young boy. Less crowded, and more possible one-on-one time.

But I didn't choose to go backwards OR forwards. I went kinda sideways.

  8. Since my mom died when I was 14, I'd go back to a time when she was that age.

  9. Oh, since you're going anyway, just give it a try and win big! Maybe B2TF got it wrong somehow. Don't worry, just do it!

But first see what Jesus says about it if you could get to him on the Mount. He knows your heart, so don't worry about any potential language barriers.

  10. Difficult one this. I'd probably go to see if Jesus was around so I could have a little chat with him. But then there's ancient Rome or Ancient Greece or going to see Oscar Wilde. Can I have more than 1 day?

  11. Both of those ideas sound cool. I said I'd go back in my own life to jog my memory a bit for my memoir. (And bring my dog for moral support :))

  13. Oh, yes. The stock prices. That is one super idea. Now, to find that wormhole before it closes along with the stock exchange.

  14. Gotta take the DeLorean! And don't worry, everyone assured me in comments at my place that Jesus would make it so we understood. :)

  15. What an interesting question...My Christian self would love to go back and be present at Calvary followed by the resurrection. Another side, the more selfish one, would love to visit my own childhood to try and make a few changes.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm quite impressed with your site here and will be following you. You've got so much great material here for writers!

  19. Nice post, Mark. Wouldn't time travel be neat?
I would probably go back in time 150 years to New Hampshire, and buy as much land as I could along Lake Winnipesaukee.... ;) one of my fav places. Other than that, I just port myself over to Italy, and France, and Ireland, and Norway... and just make a never-ending day of it.
